Consciousness is just a manifestation of the tools we have been given by our biology via the vehicle of evolution - why do we have consciousness ? because it worked ... it gave the Organism feelings which motivated him to survive - leads to the survival of the fittest and the passing on of genes. Mystical approaches are just guess work ... which is more likely, a god created humanity or humanity created many gods? Cosmology ... where exactly do all the souls go? Perhaps we go to another dimension of space time? Space time is just a measurement we use scientifically to try and make the formulas work ... it is not an inhabitant place. Evolution - brain waives make coherence Biology came up with a mechanism to make the want real - biology via our consciousness supplies the motivation for biological replication. We are not kids in 7th grade in 1972- my kidneys are not going to kidney heaven, my fingernails are not going to fingernail heaven - material parts decompose - if the hard drive shatters the information is lost - it is gone - when the brain stops ticking, when the neurons die, when the synaptic system stop firing the identity is lost - this is not complicated ...
