Consent has to be manufactured to keep the unwary hooked on the junk that the monarchy is the best thing to happen to humanity since water. That is crass and arrant nonsense. The monarchy was the product of a feudalistic will to power that conferred kingship by divine rights on those who are sociopathic enough to amass as much power as they can, and skewering any opposition in the process. No man is better than the other. No man should rule over others simply because he was born in a castle. After all Nero and Caligula were such royal idiots.
