Constabulary collaborator, Techtra Tronical and I bring you - TopicsExpress

Constabulary collaborator, Techtra Tronical and I bring you another interview with a Murdoch Mysteries actor: Igor Pugdog! He had a ter-ruff-fic cameo appearance in the Season 7 MM episode, A Blast of Silence. Here is the interview: How did you get into acting? I have always been in front of a camera! Mom and Dad were always taking pics and one of the first ones was used in a local Harley ad. In 2010 I became #1 obedience pug dog in Canada. Mom & Dad always donate to Pugalug Pug Rescue in TO and in November 2011 received a newsletter with a pug casting call in it. You can view my audition on YouTube Adorable Pug Auditions (youtu.be/GF69PX1sYZE). I was picked from 17 other pugs to star in Life Doesnt Frighten Me playing Gordon Pinsents pug King Henry. The film has gone on to TIFF, Tribeca and won the CBC Short Film Faceoff. This lead to people becoming fans which then led to Static: The Movie and my very brief appearance on Murdoch Mysteries! Anyone you look up to? (Canine or otherwise?) I look up to my friend Badger (he is my canine idol), Rocket, my Dad and as far as acting idols I have worked with some of the best, Gordon Pinsent, Eric Petersen and Yannick Bisson. What was it like working with the Murdoch Mysteries cast/crew? Working with the Murdoch cast and crew was a blast! They all accepted me warmly and were very patient with Mom who wanted pics of me with all of them. I would LOVE to work with them again! We understand you played the dog of the Mayor. Before you knew the scene, were you worried that your character might be the bark that set off the second bomb? I was told by the Mayors wife to sit & stay and thats what I did very quietly.... This was the first time I was handed off to work with an actor without Mom being right there with me! How did I do? Would you want to make another appearance on the show? If so, any thoughts on what kind of story/scene you would like to chew the scenery? There have been many suggestions that the Mayor re-home me with the Brackenreid family. I think that idea would be really cool...maybe the Inspector could take me to the station house with him! We understand you do charity work, how did you get into it? Was it always an interest/passion, or was there a certain moment? I do two kinds of charity work. Firstly I am a child/ READ tested St. John Ambulance therapy dog . I have been doing this for 5 1/2 years and I LOVE visiting my friends and meeting new people. Secondly I use my little bit of fame to raise money for Pugalug Pug Rescue. Every year Mom & Dad take shots of me for my Bad to the Bone calendar...This year we raised over $2200. Next year Eric Petersen and Yannick have both agreed to appear in it. Mom is calling it Igor Pugdogs Walk of Fame I have always wanted to help people feel better and be able to make them smile and for helping out pug rescue....well theyre my bros! You have quite an array of collars. Where are they acquired? Do you have a lucky one you wear to auditions? As for my vast wardrobe...I have around 60 dog collars and 8 bow ties. These are made by my Auntie Dora and her company is MyTopDog.ca I have collars for all occasions and holidays but my favourite ones have skulls and flames. Are there any new projects you’re working on that you can talk about? Currently two of my projects are in post-production , Static: The Movie and Terrys Car Gets Stolen. Pictures are always being taken for my social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and my IMDb page) along with gathering images for my calendar. I am getting a few requests for celebrity pug at dog events and hope to get a few more acting jobs soon. What do you like to do for downtime? In my downtime I like to ride on the Harley with Mom and Dad, walk in the neighbourhood, eat and sleep. What advice would you give to young pups breaking into the business today? For young pups getting into the business...obedience school, training, a good publicist, manager and chauffeur ...and a bit of luck! And to end this on a sweet note, at the end of a long day of filming, what is your favourite kind of treat? .....is there any question as to what kinda treat? Timbits! ___________________ THANK YOU, Igor, for giving us this opportunity! And special THANK YOU to Igors Mom Tracey, for helping to facilitate the interview!
