Constructive Comments welcome - I don’t think we are being told the whole story on the Palestinian UN Draft Resolution… According to Norman Finkelstein on a Press TV Interview today (UNSC to vote on Palestine draft resolution on Tuesday), the so called resolution gives Israel Veto power in 3 major areas… 1. The borders have to be mutually agreed upon…Israel will never agree and have a VETO power on where the borders are. – Same old problem! 2. The Number of Refugees in the right of return has to be mutually agreed upon…again Israel gets full VETO Power…No changes here either since they wont agree to anything! 3. The CENTRE of the Draft is focused on Security and takes precedence over everything – which means Israel will just continue to complain and never agree citing security concerns…no change here either… If this is true, then in essence, Israel gets a veto on Borders, refugees, and security…what will Palestine get? Nothing! Nothing, because Israel will not agree with anything! If these 3 points are to be interpreted correctly then it is a good bet that the US will NOT VETO the motion because it allows the same BS to continue. The only thing the Palestinian resolution will succeed in is to quiet down all the people who really want a peaceful settlement and an end to Israeli war crimes…it will also give the US a saved face at the UN since voting for the resolution will appear as a softening up of US foreign policy…its completely deceptive!! The US will not have any problems passing this legislation at the UN because it allows Israel to have the upper hand over Palestine…if the US were to veto the resolution they will be viewed as the monster they continue to be…SO, I am hoping that Russia, being one of the Permanent members of the UN Security Council, will allow their news agency such as RT COMPLETE access to the proposal AND it must be presented to the people honestly…no room for speculation here!!
