Consuming sugar weakens the immune system. After your kiddos have tons of sugary Halloween yummies, load them up with immune support like vitamin C, and be sure to remind them to be extra diligent with hand washing. You can trick them into eating extra veggies by stirring steamed / mashed cauliflower into mac-n-cheese, add fine chopped mushrooms or spinach to scrambled eggs, or stir pumpkin into pancake batter (add some pumpkin pie spice too ;-) ).
