Central Avenue Jamestown, TN 38556 Fentress County Chamber of Commerce Press Release August 1, 2013 Fentress County Farmer’s Market FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Fentress County Soil Conservation District (SCD) is pleased to announce the formation of a new Fentress County Farmer’s Market to open for business on Saturday, August 10, 2013 from 7 AM to Noon. The Farmer’s Market is located adjacent to the Soil Conservation District office across from Wal-Mart. The Farmer’s Market will be open for business on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, 7 AM to Noon, every week from the Saturday before Father’s Day in June until the Saturday before Columbus Day in October. Vendors will set up on a first come, first served basis, with no areas being reserved. Free use of the Farmer’s Market facilities will be allowed through the month of August. Projected fees for a calendar year will be $5.00 per year plus 4.00% of the daily profits, not to exceed $20.00 per day. This money will be paid to the Soil Conservation District to be used for advertising, remote restroom unit, insurance and improvements. The following items will be allowed to be sold: Any locally grown or locally handmade agriculture based items such as Vegetables, Eggs, Meat, Honey, Jellies, Jams, Baked Goods and Soaps. No flea market items will be allowed. Please contact the Soil Conservation Office if you have a product not on this list. Neighboring counties may participate with a letter from their local UT Extension office testifying that the goods were grown by the participant The Soil Conservation District will provide a “Fentress Farmer’s Market” sign on the property, establish vendor areas and parking areas, submit initial advertising for the Market, and install covered areas and 1 table per space. Should the covered space and/or tables all be in use, vendors may set up their own area outside the covered area. If room allows, vendors may also bring additional tables of their own. Please join us on Saturday, August 10th from 7 AM to Noon for opening day at the new Fentress County Farmer’s Market.
