Contd from 07-01-15........ E- Satsang members missed out all our previous postings can read them in my timeline.... NAMADWAAR TEAM AND OUR SWAMIJI WISHES ALL OUR E-SATSANG MEMBERS HAPPY SANKRANTHI / HAPPY PONGAL LETS REMIND OUR SELFS THE IMPORT ON THIS AUSPICIOUS DAY AS SAID BY GREAT THIRUVALLUVAR & SRI SRI MURALIDHARA SWAMIJI.... 1. Thirukkural உழுதுண்டு வாழ்வாரே வாழ்வார்மற் றெல்லாம் தொழுதுண்டு பின்செல் பவர் Meaning They live who live to plough and eat The rest depend on them to bow and eat. Pongal is a Farmers Festival (Uzhavar Thirunal) Just as the whole economy depends essentially on the farmers produce, all dharmas revolve around and depend on Nama Kirtan to be meaningful and beneficial. Nama Kirtan is the King of all Dharmas and is not dependent on any other Dharma for its existence. It is not always true that the size of the work determines the rate of its success. ----------------------------- Sri Sri Muralidhara swamiji 2. In order to achieve worldly comforts as well as to attain God, both His Grace and your efforts are required. A farmer who puts in his best efforts by ploughing the field, sowing seeds and manuring, will still not able to do a good harvest, if it does not rain at the right time. Thorough inundation by means of rains on an unploughed arid land will do no good either. A combination of proper efforts (by means of ploughing, sowing and manuring) and grace (by means of rains at the appropriate rime), makes one successful. Now how do we know that we get the Lord’s grace? When we say that we need God’s grace irrespective of the efforts we put in to attain the Lord, this is what is meant: As long as you feel that you are putting in efforts and you are responsible for your Sadhanas(Practice) , you will not be able to attain Him. The moment, you start to feel that everything is happening by the Lord’s grace; it is He who instigates and empowers you to perform Sadhanas, then you can be pretty sure that your efforts are not in vain. That feeling is verily the indication that you are a recipient of the Lord’s grace. ----------------- 3. One who Chants the Divine Name should be like a vivasayi (farmer). Farmer ploughs the land and sows the seeds (effort); prays for Lord’s grace for rain, as no amount of his effort would fetch him that and waits for the ripe time for a good harvest. One who chants should also possess three things viz. effort, grace and kaala (time). The Lord Himself leads, as would a mother her child, one who Chants the Divine Name with deep bhakti(devotion) for the Lord. The mother holds the child by the hand and leads and protects the child from falling in any pit that may be found on the way. Likewise, God takes hold of his devotee and removes all the hurdles in his/her way. !!! More devotion through e-satsang to follow - Be blessed !!! -------------------- Regards & Chant the Mahamantra Nama kirtan: Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare.
