Content. After reaching my three score years and ten, an accomplishment that would surprise most of those who knew me back in 1960, and when I say most I include myself; I have started to write. Poetry, for the gift it gives the writer to externalise and expel the fears and frustrations that build up in our lives. Books on natural health, to pass on stuff I have taken 40 years to learn and fiction just for the hell of it. The strangest thing I have put together is a collection of ideas and thoughts gathered over the last 10 years. Some of these still make sense when sober the next day, others dont. Some of the poetry is posted to Wattpad, which is a great place to find new writers and their work. Some of my other work is published in e books but most is still trapped in my computer and my mind. To anyone who finds themselves with feelings of any kind, and I sincerely hope that means just about everyone, I suggest they write them down. The feelings can be positive and happy or negative and sad. All genuine feelings are legitimate. Expressing thoughts and feelings helps clarify and release. It does not have to be for publication. It does not have to be grammatically correct, it may take the form of a diary or a poem. It can be an epic saga or a limerick. What ever it is it will be yours to keep secret or publish. Once published it is open to everyone and that means both criticism and praise. If you do want to publish then it is best to go through it and correct the spelling and grammar as otherwise some readers will focus on these “mechanics” errors and not on the message you are trying to convey. Writing down can be a release of feelings. Writing can be a therapy. It can also be a way of passing time without being bored. ************************************************ Hunting urban style A continuous spy-catcher story, with the plot rolling over, as each event ends, into the aftermath of that event and the follow up processes. A work showing that nothing in the counter terrorism world has a real finite end. The pace is fast with the plot developing and unrolling on every page. The endless alternative possibilities that arise when trying to understand what a skilled enemy may be intending to do next. The subterfuge and lies needed to ensure that same enemy does not become fully aware of what the counter terrorist service is really doing. An evolving story of skilled protagonists that constantly expands with ripples spreading out ever wider, as each bit of new information leads to more and more questions. The story is told from the view point of one of the controllers of the counter terrorists. He is not the political or bureaucratic boss but the guy at the sharp end forced to manipulate his resources and personnel in ways that minimise the risk of a failure to follow the most fruitful lead while avoiding all the decoys and deceits his enemies employ. Within this darkly mixed game of lies and inspirational insights, the controller is not even sure who his enemies are. He is even less sure who his friends are. The story flows from crisis to consolidation and back to crisis as differing possibilities emerge. What seems a finite success is just the beginning of another even more convoluted problem. From stolen memory sticks to plots to blow an airliner, carrying the American secretary of state, out of the air as it lands at Stansted. From the wild emptiness of a Suffolk coastal setting, to the crammed streets of central London; the pace is relentless, the action moving and changing focus every page. From London to Colorado things move always twisting and turning until the final climax. This is now live in the Kindle Store and is currently enrolled in KDP Select. Some are questions, some are answers. Every reader will find some notes they agree with and some they disagree with. Disagreement, provided it is rational and non violent, is good. Disagreement leads to active thinking which in turn leads to clarity. This is a book to be dipped into, to be used to inspire your own mind. It is not a narrative book that can be read in sequence. There are ideas on God and humanity, there are ideas on politics and domestic life. There are good ideas and some bad ones. There are comments on global warming and on happiness. There is knowledge and there is ignorance. The reader gets to choose which is which. Samples It is said that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to go to heaven. One second after death there are NO riches, all the dead are poor people. **** Every bit of knowledge we gain has a purpose but like a jigsaw puzzle, the purpose contained in each small bit, does not make sense until we see the complete picture. **** So many people seem to prefer pretence, appearance, artificiality to reality. It does not matter to them if the body is bad as long as the clothes look good. This preference is a dangerous error. *** Very large sections of the human race; especially those in power, seem to have forgotten that very often doing nothing is the best option. * There is a lot written about physical self harm but many more people carry out mental and emotional self harm. Always seeking and dwelling on the worst possible outcome and the negative and pain in any situation. *** A friend, is some one who lets you live the way you want to live. An enemy is some one who tries to stop you living the way you want to live. An extremist is some one who insists on trying to force you to live they way they want to live. ***** Being partners means respecting each others secrets. It does NOT mean having no secrets **** At 10pm on a Saturday night, not many people are concerned about Monday morning. *** Nothing in life is as good as you hope for, nor as bad as you fear. Accept this and life is easier to cope with. *** Positive thinking, positive visualization, positive belief; all are good connections though the laws of homogenous attraction. Remember that you can not win the lottery unless you buy a ticket. No amount of positive belief and visualization will give you a fit and healthy body, unless you also exercise. No amount of positive thought will get you a top mark in an exam, unless you also study. Creation does not reward idleness. ** The idea that you can overcome a moral or theological argument by the use of force is absurd but it is equally absurd to think you can overcome force by use of a moral argument.
