Content warning: So apparently, its not just me that thinks Luke has a command of vocabulary and reading skills far beyond his grade level. His STAR reading tests scores came back today - hes in the 98th percentile and scored perfect 100s in every single domain. His Lexile measure was 1365L (by comparison, most other 5th graders range between 565L to 910L and 12th graders range between 940L to 1210L). Apparently, they dont have books challenging enough for him there at the school library right now and are going to see about getting some for him. Did I mention hes about two years younger than most kids in his grade, too? While delighted because Luke is so excited to find this out about himself, I am not surprised in the least. . After all, this is a kid whose been using $5 and $10 words - correctly - since he was old enough to talk. Its one of the reasons why we started calling him The Professor.
