A cat normally lives for 8 to 15 years of age, where as some cats might also live for around 19 years. Thus getting a cat is a big responsibility which has to be maintained for a very long time. Are you ready for that? 2. A cat requires vaccine doses just like humans and also requires at least 4 to 5 vet check-ups per year. Thus maintaining a healthy cat is not cheap at all. Are you sure that you will be able to deal with the extra expenses? 3. A cat’s diet should include at least 80% of protein with 20% of other types of food such as carbohydrate and fibre. Which means fish and meat MUST be a part of their daily meals, in fact if you don’t decide to feed your cat store bought cat food then fish and meat is all you are going to have to feed your cat which can actually be very expensive. 4. Cats often need to be trained to make them more suitable as pets. Example: Litter training, training them to understand what they can and cannot play with, etc. Some cats learn within a few days or even within one day where as some might even take a month or so. Are you patient enough? Are you ready to take in that extra pressure? 5. On average a cat requires 13 to 18 hours of sleep a day, thus you need to make sure that the new member of your family is not disturbed by the other members (humans) of your family. 6. Are you ready to love your cat enough to stay beside her even when she is old and sick and not playful and fun anymore? If not then please change your decision and do NOT adopt/buy a cat. Once you have considered the points above and decided that you are ready, let’s proceed.
