Continue praying, keeping alert, and always thanking God - Colossians 4:2 What is prayer? Prayer is simply communication with God-just talking and listening to him. You see, prayer moves the hand of God, and the hand of God moves the world! He wants us to come to him in prayer. There is not right or wrong way to pray. All you have to do is talk to God like you would with your best friend. A lot of people have the idea that prayer is only talking to God. That is only half of it. You really can not communicate with someone without another important activity-listening. Prayer is a two-way street. Not only does God want you to talk to him; he also wants to talk to you. How can God talk to you? Through his Word. Try it right now. Whatever need you have, go to God in prayer, and then pick this Bible back up and let God speak to you from his Word. But do not just get in a habit of praying when you are in a bind. God wants you to be in continual prayer, talking to him throughout the day. Start everyday with a quiet time-moments that are reserved for you and God. Prayer can only happen when two of you are spending time together. If you were once in a while, what would happen? Your friendship would not be that close. If we expect our relationship with Christ to be strong, we must never stop praying. Kick it up a notch today!
