Continue to monitor a weekend storm system, but with such busts on snow this season so far, do not feel confidence to update anything, and really, with every model saying something different (whats new?), there isnt anything to update. Much of the issue is the pattern, its a weird patten to say the least. Youve got 2 regions of warm and cold because of the orientation of the jet stream. There is cold air in the southwest about to bring Vegas snow, and cold air with high pressure here, then warm air southeast and northwest. If you were a model, youd be confused too! This is causing storm after storm to develop but they have either weakened or brought us rain, or missed us all together. Yes, constant forecast fails are frustrating, but most so for me because I take the brunt of the bullets! Remember, I can not control weather, I am here to provide information on what could occur. Forecasting relies a great deal on these models, and if the models are in a fiasco stage, theres really nothing we can do beside constantly monitor everything. Hopefully this patten will work its way out and things will be easier. But for now will waiting several days before making another post about this system.
