Hebrews 13:3 There are a significant number of extremist Islamic organisations operating in Indonesia that use strict religious interpretations to justify the implementation of Islamic law and the infringement of the rights of religious minorities. Though they do not have strong political representation, their influence is widespread as they take to the streets and steer public opinion. The level of violence against Christians is quite high, especially compared to other countries in south-east Asia. More than ten churches were attacked or closed last year. Please Pray: 1. Some Christians have been detained on false charges of proselytizing and blasphemy. Pray for courage to witness to those who are persecuting them 2. Muslim-background believers often face physical abuse, and sometimes have to flee their homes and relocate elsewhere. Pray for their safety. 3. Many churches find it extremely difficult to obtain a permit, even if they have met all the necessary requirements. Pray that these believers would be able to meet together
