Continued : Part II: I completed my graduation under Kakajis supervision. It was the first year summer holidays time: Perhaps , already, he had an inkling about my liking for reading newspapers and books (fiction) . He himself was a very devoted reader. Mostly in his spare time , in his office or in bed I found him always with a book. The other day, he might have read a book written by an economist. Later he narrated a part. Someone had asked the economist, what should the Govt do when everything has been got done and the labour goes without work. He replied, To avoid a situation of rebellion by the labour, the Govt should undo what has been got done and re-construct it, in no case the labour should be left idle. Accordingly, my brother employed me in training my young mind. How ! you may ask. Well, he gave me three books. The Good Earth, by Pearl S. Buck; The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan; A Tale of two Cities by Charles Dickens. In addition he gave me an Oxford Dictionary and said, Do not only read these books but study them as well. Look for difficult words meanings, you do not know ,and then build a store-house of your vocabulary. His words stood at good stead, not only at that time of my life but later on also. I kept on reading and studying. All the above books are classics in themselves, both contents vise and language vise too. continued.....
