Continuing a recent theme, heres yet another article that relates to the compartmentalization of information on FB: It agrees with other studies indicating that when people form opinions they tend towards accounts that are more consistent with their existing system of beliefs. What an extensive study… over 270,000 posts they examined! I remember telling folks two years ago that I predicted a slough of masters theses and doctoral dissertations on FB alone in the coming years. It is an unprecedented model of communication, double-edged sword as it may be. It has taken discourse to an amplified and accelerated and global level that weve never seen before, and we are just now starting to come to terms with it I think, both personally psychologically, interpersonally among our peers, and on the meta level with issues all over the globe that affect us.
