Continuing my attempts to talk to Mr Ajay Agarwal, the health - TopicsExpress

Continuing my attempts to talk to Mr Ajay Agarwal, the health minister from Chattisgarh in support of #NoMoreBilaspur After my first phone conversation with him, he never answered by phone call Ive only spoken to his secretary Today I asked the minister directly if he would resign taking moral responsibility for the situation, the secretary said He has already taken action. I asked him other than arresting the doctor, he hasnt done anything. He said, No he has taken lot of action. I asked him to explain and he just hung up I started my sending message via whats app - he read my messages where i directly asked him to resign, but never responded. This is not an isolated issue but yet it continues to be ignored and only is noted after the failures turn fatal and make it to the breaking news. This has to change, this attitude and this behavior has to change Sterilization was supposed to control population not eliminate population. Had the focus been on quality of sterilization and not on quantity, may be the women killed in Bilaspur would still be alive. Had our policy makers focused on the ground realities and made an attempt to understand why sterilization is always womens responsibility and not males, may be the problem could have been better addressed. May be the women would not be forced for a few hundred rupees and may be the men would have volunteered to be sterilized. Every year thousands of sterilizations fail, hundreds die. This is as per the response given in Loksabha to an MPs question (164.100.47.132/Annexture_New/lsq15/11/au4404.htm).
