Continuing my ... metal appreciation month with the band Thorns, with their eponymous and only album. This is not necessarily pleasant or easy listening, by conventional standards, but is impressively high concept and flawlessly executed. The first time i heard it was in early 00s when a friend attempted to introduce me to it, but my then much narrower taste palette rejected it utterly. Having more recently rediscovered it, I now recognise (and champion, haha) it as a true modern classic. . . Also the album artwork is great and fits it immaculately.
