Continuing my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. I am currently in the C’s now playing a few from is Creedence Clearwater Revival, aka CCR. The band consisted of John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, Doug Clifford. The band has sold 26 million albums in the United States alone, and inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. Rolling Stone ranked the band 82nd on its list of the 100 greatest artists of all time. The next song selected is Lookin Out My Back Door, another song written by John Fogerty for CCR’s Cosmos Factory album. The song was their 5th and final #2 Billboard Hot 100 hit. Cosmo’s Factory was certified Gold and in the early 1990s and later certified Platinum. In 2003 Cosmos Factory was ranked #265 on Rolling Stones list of 500 greatest albums of all time. The album, while being their apex, also signaled the decline and subsequent end for the band as control issues started separating the band members. Lookin Out My Back Door was a direct tribute to the Bakersfield Sound, a form of music that influenced John Fogerty and the Creedence sound with Buck Owens, one of the architects of the Bakersfield Sound, even being mentioned in the songs lyrics. https://youtube/watch?v=TVeyC849E54
