Continuing the look at the new birth experience in relation to the words of Jesus as found in John chapter 3 and now in Matthew 9:16-17, reading: "No man puts a a piece of new (unshrunken) cloth onto an old garment. For that which is put in to fill it up takes away from the garment; thus, the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break and the wine runs out plus the old bottles perish. Rather, they put new wines into new bottles so that both are preserved." Jesus uses two well know situations from the natural realm to give the needed understanding for that which is in the spiritual realm. Many churches today are experiencing difficult internal problems because they have so many in their flocks that have not had their old nature crucified and removed by burial; therefore, the old garments are constantly being torn so many different ways and the Holy Ghost movements (once precious to them) have since departed from them.
