Continuing with my review of the Golden Decade of Music 1965-1974, where I am selecting the artists alphabetically and playing selections of their songs I liked or found influential from that Golden Decade. I am currently in the Cs and will play a few from the next artist on my list, Joe Cocker. Cocker is an English rock and blues singer, who came to popularity in the 1960s, and is known for his gritty voice, his spasmodic body movement in performance and his cover versions of popular songs. The next song selected from Joe Cocker is his version of Delta Lady, a song written by Leon Russell about Rita Coolidge, whom he and Cocker both had been involved with during the “Mad Dogs & Englishmen” tour. https://youtube/watch?v=4LGeoLvNces
