Continuing with the James Bond music, here we have (a bit more mainstream) the Moby version of the James Bond theme. A bit more unique because it was officially used in Tomorrow Never Dies. We got to thank the success of movies like Hackers and Mortal Kombat which paved the way for electronica acts such as Moby to come into heavy currency in films starting in the 90s. The Moby version showcases what is actually a common trope in the underground music world, which is the sampling of dialog and effects from films. Dont quote me, but I believe Skinny Puppy was the Band who were the big pioneers in this, which many bands of all genres that followed also practicing film sampling. Though this song is for Tomorrow Never Dies note the Goldfinger speech samples later in the song. The video itself is..... oook... the editing, though hyper kinect, also creates some really weird sequences. Example - cut to Pierce shooting his machine gun, then cut to Moby dodging bullets. Eisenstein theory going on here - it looks like Bond is shooting.... at Bond-proxy! The girl in the hot pants and the huge fake tits in the latter half of the song is laughable. While I dont have any real opinion on fake boobs (boobs are boobs) the expression on her face while her fake tits are swinging around as she runs is extremely comical. Sneakers with your Tux Moby? Also, a last comment - Moby runs alot. He has 1 fight sequence against ninjas, so he looks like this Bond proxy should be able to dispatch all the people chasing him. But he... kinda keeps running. And to no resolution. the time stops - but not from any interference from Moby. So he just kinda.... runs. Also, if no one predicted that the timer wasnt going to stop at 007, youre a fool :D youtube/watch?v=6MdABLcI7RI
