Contra Costa County grants its temp casual/seasonal employees union representation. Seriously? This is not legally required and, from a management POV, creates unnecessary obstacles to operations. No wonder the County is still bargaining about an automated timekeeping system (to replace its Paleolithic Age manual system) after 7 YEARS of talk-talk-talk.
