Contract advice needed. Sent a contract yesterday for a gig this Sat (15min non-fire flow duo ambient performance) and the production company returned it with several edits. There us one edit on particular we dont agree with and I am unsure how to respond. We are asking for 24 hours advance cancellation or payment in full. Also, they would like contract to change to us receiving payment 5 days after performance via mail as opposed to our 48 hr turn around for payment receipt. What we really dont agree with is they want the contract to state we will pay them our artist fee in full within 48 if we are unable to fulfill performance regardless of reason. Thus gig was a quick hire so we did not ask for a deposit, also the reason we are sending a contract out so late. I have never had someone ask for me to pay them if I dont show in all my many years of gigs, corporate, through agents or otherwise. Advice on response and feedback appreciated. Jandro?
