Contractors shack and building materials on Seventh Avenue, possibly during the 1892 construction of the Helena Public Library and Auditorium across Seventh Ave. The Independent Record building now occupies this site. There is a jumble of large pipes in the yard on the south side of the shack. Could they be water mains? The second photo is an enlarged detail of the first photo, giving a closer view of three large pipes/couplings of some sort. Does anyone know what they are? The streetcar tracks are those of a branch of the Helena Electric Railway Company, which ran from Main and Seventh along Seventh to Davis, south to State St. and back to Main. Negative from the Kennon Baird Collection...
