Contrary to popular belief, growing up in rural area is not that much a disadvantage. I attended the best schools in rural areas and I know most people who made it far in education who grew up in rural areas and went all the way to succeed in life than their urban counterparts. Some funny terms are given to us rural folks but that hasnt dampened our spirit to rise above the rest. We grew up with little resources to help in our education but against all odds we made it. I used to see on TV urban folks burning libraries and classes in protest against their councillors or leaders and all I could do was to pray and wake the following day with a library at my doorstep, that didnt happen though and it is still hard to get funds to build a library as most sponsors would rather donate their money for sports activities as oppossed to a library. Not that my dream to have libraries build in rural areas will fade away any time soon. I am just not happy about companies shutting their doors in my face whenever I mention the fact that the money is to be used to build a library. Maybe they dont know the pain of making haphazard decisions because of lack of knowledge.
