Contrary to some wishful thinking MDC-T formations media outlets - TopicsExpress

Contrary to some wishful thinking MDC-T formations media outlets such as SW Radio Africa which lied that Minister Chinamasa had been ordered by the Principals to write a new court application for election postponement with MDC-T Minister Biti and MDC-N Minister Ncube, Minister Chinamasa has made it clear that nothing of that sort happened. Instead, Minister Chinamasa filed a new court application for the already submitted court application to be treated by the Constitutional Court as a matter of utmost urgency. I am personally glad that Minister Chinamasa made such an urgent application because it is in the pressing and compelling national interest for the Constitutional Court to treat that application as a matter of utmost urgency which has to be decided by the end of this week and next week latest so that the big cloud of uncertainty hovering over elections date and preparations is cleared as soon as possible so that citizens, businesses and Government can plan accordingly with full awareness of a fully finalized election date. The whole court application for poll deadline extension is improperly constituted though especially because there are no real compelling reasons and grounds which are being raised by the applicant for extending the election deadline beyond the already set July 31 2013 election date serve for saying the applicant is merely following through a Sadc Summit foreign suggestion. The whole court application for poll deadline extension is improperly constituted also because President Mugabe has already complied with the earlier court ruling for which the applicant is now apparently seeking relief. It would be also absurd for the Constitutional Court to grant further violation of the fundamental citizen right to vote which it said is automatically incurred if elections are not held by June 29 2013 at the automatic expiry of Parliament and such a fundamental citizen right to vote would be further violated if the long overdue Zimbabwe elections are not held by July 31 2013. On those fundamental grounds above, the Zimbabwe Constitutional Court is inclined to uphold its standing ruling that the long overdue and now proclaimed Zimbabwe elections be held by July 31 2013. No reverse to July 31 2013 Elections
