Controversial topic here, but was chatting to a security guard at work this weekend and he supports Sheffield United, and naturally the subject of Ched Evans came up, and while we both agreed that what he did was wrong and there can be no excuse, does he really deserve to be denied a chance of a career? especially when theres other people that have done wrong and been given another chance, most notably Lee Hughes who caused people to lose friends and relatives, but yet he wasnt as badly crucified by the press or supporters of the club, again I am in NO WAY WHATSOEVER supporting or justifying what Evans did, but surely he should be given a chance to earn a living, and playing football is the only job he really knows, so what else could he do? and besides surely getting crucified week in, week out, would also make a pretty decent punishment as surely the slating from opposition fans would be off the scale, sure the odd defender or two would make sure he gets a rough tackle here and there as well. This Sheffield United fan was actually pretty disappointed the club have decided not to let him back as he was a shit hot striker at this level, and even league 2 tranmere have apparently turned him down as well, which poses the question, if you thought he could fire you to promotion, and you could probably get him on a free, as well as piss poor wages seeing as you were the only club willing to take a punt on him, then would you sign him up?
