Conventional factory farms boast that they are supplying large volumes of inexpensive produce, meat and eggs to supply the hunger needs of millions of people. They have convinced many people, even politicians, that their methods of farming and raising animals and poultry are producing vast amounts of food at very reasonable prices. The CRITICAL QUESTION to answer them with is: but at what price to the publics health?? The produce grown on factory farms comes from MINERAL STARVED SOILS. This drastically reduces the healthy vitamins and phytonutrients in the fresh produce. The meat, eggs and milk produced from animals and chickens raised in crowded, filthy factory barns are loaded with toxic amounts of antibiotics and growth hormones. Milk from the factory farm cows MUST BE PASTEURIZED or even ultra-pasteurized to kill the vast amounts of HARMFUL bacteria in the milk. Contrast this with the growing methods of organic farmers who use natural manure and compost to enrich the soil and BUILD-UP its mineral content. Produce grown in these soils are RICH in vitamins and phytonutrients. Animals and poultry raised on organic farms are free to roam and eat foods natural to their diet. Meat from these animals is FREE OF TOXINS while the healthy milk is safe to drink RAW. Organic farming techniques are those used by farmers a half-century ago and earlier. They produced VERY HEALTHY FOOD AT REASONABLE PRICES. Its time we return to these early farming techniques and restore the health and reasonable prices to our general food supply.
