Conversation started today 7:23 pm, a self-reminder Dear Liz Milne, I have been looking to contact George for quite some time, and now have discovered your facebook account thanks to Keith Gadd. Hope you will friend me so I can speak with George. It has been a long time since we saw and talked with the two of you, when you came with your children to visit us in New Port Richey, Florida in June 1994--I remember the time exactly because we watched the World Cup Final together in our living room, Brazil beating Italy in a shoot out when Roberto Baggio sent a strike very high over goal. Seems like yesterday now when I think about it . . . And George, of course, was pulling for Italy, the European team. Tell him I follow Celtic somewhat these days, Hearts, and Ross County, but my favorites, as before, remain Arsenal and Southampton in BPL, and now Sunderland as well---ah well, those Geordies, including my good friend Fred Johnston from County Durham . . . just kidding . . . now the American Josie Altidore plays striker--#9 if I am not mistaken--for Sunderland much of the time, alternating in the position with a Scotsman that George may well l know, Steven . . . something. I follow the American national team closely, including those Americans playing in the Barclays Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1, Bundislige (sp?)--- and La Liga as well though I am not aware that any Americans play in La Liga at the moment. I have just finished editing/revising a book for another researcher (at Univ. of California, Berkeley) that will be published by Cambridge University Press this year, and have other work to do . . . editing some literary work/letters of a 20th Century American writer . . . publishing that book in the next few years, I hope. We will see how that goes. We live in Raleigh, North Carolina, now, and have for the past 11+ years as I worked at North Carolina State University, and previously at an Iowa university. I do language consultancy work now, both in English and Japanese . . . we lived in Japan for a number of years when we first got married, Devin and Shawn born in Sapporo, Japan in April 1983 and October 1984 respectively.
