Conversation started today BrownZero LA 6:29pm BrownZero LA BROWNZERO LA OCTOBER 30th SHOW, AT 5PM PST, “KILLRADIO.NET” This week’s show will be cohosted by Jorge López, an immigrant and civil rights activist that has become very well known in the Latino community for the work he has done as a member of various organizations and coalitions. He has invited folks from Guerrero to come on air and discuss their struggle to protect their communities in México. This week, longtime legal activist Cynthia Anderson will be joining the show to discuss the checkpoints across the Southland, and how the legal struggle has taken shape over the years. Anderson will also discuss the legal ramifications for unlicensed drivers who are ticketed and have their cars impounded in the city, and also what happens to these drivers when the license bill recently signed into effect becomes implemented into law. As a member of National Lawyers Guild, Anderson has recently engaged in forums around the city to educate and instruct the immigrant community on this issue. Also, longtime Chicana artist and activist Kathleen Román, and Cuban artist Jorge Luís Rodríguez, will be discussing the intersection of recycling and art culture in urban Los Ángeles. Román and Rodríguez from Green Artists International will explain how it is all about the arts and culture for them, while describing their experience in Green Stage aka Green Artist International “Occupy Green Sustainable Eco Found Art” in the City of The Angels. The pair of Latino environmental activists will detail their own environmental friendly Zero Waste Eco Art & Culture Awareness campaign and how they were able to persuade the city to pass to resolutions on turning waste into art, arguing that Latino families are the leading recyclers in the city of LA. Listen to their expertise in developing art from the “trash” Angelinos dispose of everyday. They have literally made recycling materials into an art-form. See their pages at greenstagealliance.blogspot, and on Facebook. During the show we will be calling Al Rojas from Northern California, and other immigrant rights activists from around the country to poll their positions on the newest version of the immigration reform proposal on the table currently, and the struggle to adjust the status of millions of undocumented immigrants contributing to the economic infrastructure of the US. And, of course like always we will be playing some old school music and some. If anyone has any questions for the guests this week, email brownzerola@gmail, they will be asked during the interview if received in time. Log onto killradio.org, and click the stream that suits your technology, stay strong in the struggle.
