Conversations (about our trials) that I have with others often go like this: I dont know how you do it. Youre such an inspiration. When this is said... I often dont know how to respond. I dont always feel like an inspiration. I definitely dont look at myself that way. The piece of advice that I tend to use a lot is dont ever let one event in your life prevent you from doing what God has planned for your future. There is SO much more to life when you look at the big picture. Right here... right now... this isnt where its at. Our goal as Christians is eternal life. I think that we cope so well because we see it exactly for what it is. Yes... our hearts have been torn to pieces... but I dont believe that our goal was to raise Josh... lay him to rest... and then die inside ourselves. It breaks my heart when I see people suffer loss and completely shut down to the rest of the world. There is SO much to live for!!! If you are struggling with loss, I hope you can see the big picture and find peace. Isaiah 51:6 Lift up your eyes to the heavens, look at the earth beneath; the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment and its inhabitants die like flies. But my salvation will last forever, my righteousness will never fail.
