Conversations with a seven year old- As my son is getting ready for bed we sit down together to talk first: Matthias: mom, was I made to be smart? Me: yes baby, you were and you are super smart and a good and wonderful boy. Why? Matthias: cause my friend at school calls me stupid. And ugly. *** Side note: I was successful in containing the raging mama lion in me in front of him*** Me: baby, you arent stupid. You are super smart, doing well in school and at home, and know so much. God made you smart. And you are smart and handsome, not ugly. The people calling you names, they are being ugly.
