Convince skills. Sometimes at a very young stage of mental breakdown, we need to convince the patient who show lack of interest. The ability to convince people to do good is a very precious quality possessed by very few people. People who suffer from breakdown cannot accept the fact that they are not doing well. In the long run a mild depression can be transformed into schizophrenia if left untreated. One of my schizophrenic client who happens to be in his fifties cannot grasp message clearly despite living with his supportive partner. Schizophrenia, brings out the lowest animal instinct without turning him into a vegetable. All that he intends to do is eat, walk and toileting. Even support or one to one attention does not seem to work.
