Cook-e Monster Gets Wild ... The #MinnesotaWild have signed forward #MattCooke to a three-year, $7.5 million contract. In 48 games with the #PittsburghPenguins last season, Cooke picked up 21 points and 48 penalty minutes. He also played in 15 playoff games contributing four assists and 35 minutes in penalties. He was originally drafted in the sixth-round, 144th overall in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft by the #VancouverCanucks. During his career he has also played for #WashingtonCapitals. Cooke has also been suspended multiple times for illegal hits over the course of his career including being banned for the final 10 games of the 2010/11 regular season and the first round of the playoffs for elbowing Rangers defenceman Ryan McDonagh. CAP-NALYSIS: Um ... hmmm. What can we say? Cooke is the guy you love to hate even if he plays for you. Cooke does some seriously dumb shit on the ice. Undersized and usually outskilled Cooke has made a name for himself in the NHL for all the wrong reasons. Why have the Wild picked him up and paid A LOT of money for this bozo? I am left scratching my head on this acquisition ... CAPSCORE: 5 minute penalty for Boarding and a Game Misconduct. The Wild should be sent to the showers on this one ...
