Cook to BTCC with Racing for Heroes Clio Cup runner-up Josh Cook will graduate to the BTCC next season with the Racing for Heroes team, which is part of a new Help for Heroes linked initiative. The team will take over a TOCA BTCC license of an existing team. The team have yet to confirm the car that they will use. Cook said Its been my dream to race a touring car since an early age, and its great to be able to do that while doing good for charity. Its rare that youre able to give back so much to ex-service personnel in a manner like this. Peter Thorpe, whose operation is behind the launch, said Were looking to redeploy war veterans into our race team at a lower level to develop their skills and ultimately create a racing team thats 100 per cent run and staffed by Help for Heroes veterans. We dont know the upper limit is going to be but I know its higher that were trying to achieve next year. I believe it will be a success. Cook won the 750MC Stock Hatch Championship before racing in the Clio for four seasons.
