Cooking this morning got me to thinking about my parents...our whole family loved to eat which was good cause Mom loved to cook and was amazing in the kitchen. I watched her take basic ingredients and turn it into a fabulous tasty feast!! When my Dad was diagnosed with cancer she tried to make every moment count, every meal something to remember...talk about cooking with love...every forkful was oozing love...she decided she was going to fix Thanksgiving dinner early =) she had the turkey roasting in the oven, dressing ready and waiting to go in, all the other side dishes bubbling away on the stove when smoke started rolling out of the oven...oh shoot, she said, Bill, Ive set the oven on fire again!!...he come hurrying in...well Lois, thats what you get for trying to fix Thanksgiving dinner in July!!!...LOL, see, even though her cooking was amazing, she always seemed to burn something...she always forget the bread because she never used a timer...it seemed every meal she burnt something...one of my Dads favorite sayings was that aint burnt, no, thats just good and brown...thats some good eating Lois!!...wonderful precious memories to think about this morning!!
