Cool School Spotlight... As part of International Education Week 2014, we would like to recognize some of the Southwest Regional colleges and universities ranked on the Institute of International Education’s (IIE) Open Doors 2014 Report. Congratulations to Arizona State University, The University of Texas at Dallas, The University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University for ranking in the top 25 institutions hosting international students. UT Austin, Texas A&M and ASU also ranked in the top 25 as ‘leading institutions awarding credit for study abroad.’ The state of Texas ranks among the top three states hosting international students. ASU and UT Austin are two of Peace Corps’ 2014 Top Colleges. Congratulations to all institutions recognized for their commitment to promoting international and cultural exchange, and preparing students for a global environment. Per IIE, the Open Doors Report ‘is supported by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and provides detailed data on student flows into and out of the U.S.’ International Education Week, a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, aims to promote international understanding and build support for international educational exchange.
