Cool interactive map. I can understand the high numbers in developing countries where children are exposed to poor sanitation, famine, war, inaccessibility, and difficult geography. But outbreaks in the so-called developed countries is inexcusable and irresponsible when a simple, inexpensive, safe and readily available MMR vaccine would reduce these numbers by 90%. Not all countries reported but its interesting that in countries where vaccination is mandatory, federally funded and administered, typically have the lowest incidences - Mexico, Turkey, Cuba, Canada, and Brazil to name a few.
