Cool memory- In kindergarten my aunt June Ann Colby came to class with me. she was my show and tell. she was a nurse Practitioner. In 1975 nurses still wore the white dresses, stockings and that nurse hat! I was so proud to have her there, as my aunt, as I am today. She gave a quick talk about doctors visits and answered all questions and handed out tongue depressors and lollipops. One kid, WALTER, I remember was just terrified because he thought she was there to give him a shot. He sobbed and sobbed, even tried to run and hide - she held him in her lap until he calmed and they became fast friends and she changed his life forever because he no longer had the intense fear of doctors. You never know when anything you say or do is impacting someone. Everyday we affect people and sometimes we dont know the difference even just a smile at a stranger can do. I love you aunt Junie Moonie! To the moon!!! And BONUS- I got to leave early that day and go eat Chinese food with my mom and AJ!! I was such the coolest 5 yo that day!!
