Coordinator, Housing Finance and Market Development Habitat’s new strategy calls for an expanded role in market approaches to housing improvement for low income communities. Habitat’s Housing Finance and Market development department aims to create opportunities for the poor by working with market actors to find innovative solutions for housing. Habitat aims to expand the supply of housing finance and other housing products and services to those low-income communities that are currently excluded. The Center for Innovation in Shelter and Finance (CISF) is an initiative to facilitate collaboration between public, private, and third sector actors to develop sustainable and innovative housing solutions for low income families. The Center advises firms working in low income communities on market research, product development and pilot testing new products. CISF also engages in research and knowledge development and promotes peer learning opportunities among market actors. The Market Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the implementation of CISF engagements in the Asia Pacific region. Requirements •Undergraduate degree from a recognized university, Post-graduate degree preferred •3 years’ experience in microfinance or a related business with proven record of success •1 year of international experience, preferably with an INGO, MFI, etc. •Ability to work independently, on a team, and on multiple tasks •Experience in program coordination or project management •Creative problem solving skills. •Mastery of MS Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint •Strong cross-cultural communication skills •Strong networking and interpersonal skills •Training, negotiation and facilitation skills. •Ability and willingness to affirm the principles of HFHI, and to work in multi-cultural, multi-faith context. •Excellent verbal and written English •Written and oral fluency in an Asian language preferred.
