Cop killed in suspected militant attack in Kulgam Srinagar, Jan 17: A cop died and a civilian got injured when suspected militants opened fire on them in south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Saturday morning, police said. Zahoor Ahmad, guard of Home- Shalibugh MLA-Elect, was injured critically when gunmen fired at him outside the lawmakers residence. He died on his way to the hospital. A civilian Zahoor Ahmad Elahi was also injured in the attack but is stable, the police said. Police sources told PTI that Dar was on his way to work this morning and was riding on Elahis motorcycle when the militants fired upon them. The area has been cordoned off and a hunt is on to nab the assailants. No militant outfit has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.
