The Iraqi Christians of the north of Iraq, Mosul and Ninevah, also known as the Assyrian Church of the East, are the descendants of the Assyrians, who were once the most powerful and scientifically advanced nation in the region. They are also the caretakers of the Syriac language and the Syriac script. Their history goes back to the first century A.D. They are among the oldest ethnic groups of the world who also happen to be Christians. They are now given the choice of abandoning their land or their faith. The Christians of MAALOULA, the little village in Syria, were the only ethnic group remaining in the world, who still spoke the language of Jesus, ARAMAIC, in their daily life. THEY WERE FORCED TO FLEE THEIR VILLAGE also. Ethnic groups of such historic significance MUST be placed under some sort of UN protection, their lineage and historic importance are International Heritage. A large round of applause to the integrity of the west, who is ready to Protect its interest at such great loss. MORE PYRRHIC VICTORIES !!! Dommage ! Had the 30th of June revolution not happened, the possibility of that same fate for the Egyptian Copts would have been very great !! GOD BLESS EGYPT, LAND AND PEOPLE
