Cops scour CCTV footage to nab techies abductors HYDERABAD: Police are examining closed circuit television camera (CCTV) footage to zero in on the duo who abducted a 22-year-old techie near Inorbit Mall at Madhapur on Friday night. The woman, who works as an assistant systems engineer at a reputed IT firm located at Madhapur, was abducted by two persons who arrived in a cab while she was waiting for a bus near Inorbit mall. The victim, a native of Guntur, had come to the city two months ago. The techie had come to the mall after her office hours to do some shopping. While she was waiting for a bus to go to Wipro junction, Gachibowli, a cab stopped beside her and the driver enquired about her destination. When she told him, he asked her to get in. Other than the driver, there was another male passenger in the rear seat. The woman, having believed it to be a shared cab, got in and sat next to the other passenger. From Inorbit mall, the cab driver drove towards the old Bombay highway but instead of turning right towards Gachibowli, continued to drive towards Khajaguda crossroads. When the victim questioned the driver, the duo tried to convince her saying they would reach Wipro junction via Nanakramguda. Meanwhile, the passenger in the rear seat started misbehaving with her prompting the woman to call her friend Chaitanya Kumar and reporting the assault. Her friend, in turn, alerted the police and cops began tracking the movement of the victim.
