Copy of a WhamORang (round triblader). 5 ply (low cost) wood. Easy to cut, shape, sand, but lighter in weight (and less strong) than 10 ply birch. This shape takes a good bit of hand-work because I cant use my 4 inch belt sander to sand the inside of the circle or the inside edges where the wings and circle meet. I virtually never use a wood rasp, but yesterday I decided why not? and it saved me a few minutes work sanding. I also made a Omega because there was just enough scrap wood left from the sheet to cut out one more boomerang. The Wham-O-Rang copy flies well. Has a semi elliptical flight path, about 35meters, with a steep climb and high hover if I add too much power. Without wind it curves in front you, so a steady 5-7 mph (2.2/.2.4 mps) wind is needed for best results (the Omega goes 40M, low round flight). I made the winglets about 1/2 inch (1.2cm) longer than the WhamORang version also and used essentially no undercut to the wings. Paint is spray paint.
