Cornbread and Milk. $1.99. Poor Mans Brunch. Thats what Im having right now. I had this almost everyday growing up. Either Pinto Beans and Cornbread or just Cornbread and Milk. Except we never heard of the word brunch. Actually we didnt use the word lunch either. I remember thinking lunch was some fancy French word or something. Lunch. I still dont like that word. We called it Dinner. The evening meal was SUPPER. The cornbread is crumbled up in a bowl and you pour either sweet milk or butter milk over it. Im having one of each. A totally wholesome food. Im guessing around 300 calories a bowl. Our milk and cornmeal are both local. By local I mean, the milk comes from Rural Retreat and the Cornmeal comes from Elliston. Both are nearby.
