Cornelius, Davidson Fire Department, Huntersville Fire Department, and North Meck Rescue were alerted to a traffic accident with Entrapment I77 SB just south of exit 28 at 330 this morning. Cornelius arrived and took command of a semi into the woods, The cab was inaccessible due to the trees down so command had 3 chainsaws brought down to cut trees away, once that was cleared enough we made a cpl cuts and could barely access the pt. Sorry to say he had passed, so we cleared Huntersville, NM, and Davidson. There was no way to get to him until Hunter Wrecker got there and pulled the cab from the trees. After that we extricated the victim by cutting the roof, door, an rolled the dash about 2ft to free the victim. Also had a fuel spill right above a drainage culvert with heavy downpours the whole time so EPA and a cleanup company were called to handle that. We cleared the scene about 0800. Good steady work by all.
