Their plans are to continue to build on this base through existing operating mine expansions, throughput increases, development of new mines, the advancement of its exploration. Summary of the Position To contribute to the team in support of the company through the collection and dissemination of global real time and near real time information regarding emergencies, threats, vulnerabilities, incidents and issues, in order to generate a common operating picture and overall situational awareness amongst key decision makers. To take action, within established parameters, to implement measures to immediately respond to identified risks, to mitigate potentially catastrophic financial, operational, reputational and physical risks to company staff, assets and premises worldwide. Job Responsibilities • Travel to all South American sites globally, to conduct security audits, security site assessments, conduct investigations and other security duties. • Prepare, or oversee the preparation of security policies and procedures directing and controlling the activities of company Security personnel and contracted security personnel at our regions and sites. • Complete detailed risk and threat assessments based on physical inspections and the gathering of local, regional and national intelligence. • Conduct investigations that require the performance of interviews in keeping with local employee rights, laws and within the parameters of companies corporate HR policies and Code of Conduct and those of each site relating to employee rights. • Collect, examine, preserve and safeguard evidence relating to the investigation. • Complete detailed reports detailing their audit and investigative activities. • Disseminate information through verbal and written critical incident and summary reports to all levels of the organization. Job Requirements • Five to eight years’ experience in Military, Police, Government investigations or comparable experience in physical security and investigations for a private entity preferred. • University degree, or the equivalent in security industry specific work experience, or ASIS Security Certifications. • Bilingual in English and either Spanish or Portuguese is required. Conversational in Spanish or Portuguese as a third language will be a major asset. • To be based either in Brazil, Argentina or Chile. • Experience in performing or managing personal protection activities that involve the protection of government officials or high profile private company executives. • Ability to travel to remote locations and sometimes under austere conditions in the performance of their duties. • Background checks required. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate in a tactful manner. • Experience in writing clear and concise reports on related compliance and security incidents that is tailored to the audience and experience in creating security policies and procedures. • Must possess and maintain the highest level of integrity.
