Corporate News: # Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd has launched Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride tablets in the US market for the treatment of a wide range of diseases, including pneumonia, bronchitis and skin infections. The tablets, a generic version of Avelox 400 mg, are available in bottle counts of 30.According to IMS Health, Avelox (moxifloxacin HCl) tablets had a sales figure of approximately $195 million in 2013. # Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) recorded 7 per cent growth in sales in February over the same month last year.SAIL produced 1 million tonnes (mt) of saleable steel in February. The month also witnessed 4 per cent production growth each in hot metal and crude steel at 1.12 mt and 1.04 mt respectively. # In a major setback to public sector company Oil India Ltd, the explorer has been forced to shut down operations at nearly 35 installations in Assam due to protests by local students’ body. The protests have started since March 1. The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has called for 300 hours or around 13 days of work suspension alleging Oil India for hiring 304 unskilled employees through non-transparent process. # Mcleod Russel India Ltd is making an entry into green tea through the acquisition of a tea processing factory in Vietnam. Phu Ben Tea Company Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of McLeod Russel in Vietnam, signed an agreement to buy a green tea-processing factory in Vietnam for $820,000 or Rs.5 crore. # Tata Communications has signed a collaboration agreement with Turkeys telecom operator Turkcell Superonline to set up a Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) node in Istanbul. MPLS is a standard technology for speeding up network traffic flow and making it easier to manage.This partnership will enable businesses in Turkey and adjoining countries where Turkcell Superonline has established cross-border fibre connectivity, to connect to Tata Communications’ global MPLS and Ethernet networks.
