Corporate News: # NMDCs sales rose 17% to 27.43 million tonnes in the first 11 months of the current financial year on higher demand from steel makers. The countrys largest producer of the key steel-making input had sold 23.43 million tonnes of iron ore in the same period of the previous financial year. Production increased to 26.42 million tonnes from 23.52 million tonnes. # Mindtree is providing application support and evolutionary maintenance services to air transport communications and IT solutions firm SITA for the latters new strategic finance system (SFS) platform. Mindtrees support for SITA covers more than 310 entities across 200 countries. # Jindal Power a subsidiary of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) has achieved full load capacity for first unit of 600 MW of the 600X4 MW expansion project to its existing 1,000 MW power plant at Tamnar in Raigarh District of Chhattisgarh. The project envisages a total investment of approximately $2 billion. Jindal Power has already synchronized second unit on 22nd February, while third unit is in the advanced stage of synchronization. # Indian Hotels Company will make provision for impairments of Rs 500 crore on investments made even as the company continues to feels the heat of depressed market conditions.
