Corporations being able to sue countries because they did not make - TopicsExpress

Corporations being able to sue countries because they did not make the anticipated amount of profit they thought they should make is absolutely RIDICULOUS yet that is exactly what the World Trade Organization (WTO) promotes. The WTO clearly wants the Trans Pacific Partnership to go through for the same reasons and the same can be said for the proposed Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). Stephen Harper has been VERY secretive about both: not releasing any details until it is a DONE DEAL apparently. That is NOT democratic and should NEVER be allowed. Agreements like this should be thoroughly discussed at length on the floor of the commons but I can assure you that is not going to happen while Stephen Harper is alive. I applaud Newfoundland and Labrador because this is what ALL the provinces should be doing because NAFTA has not worked out the way the majority of Canadians thought it was going to work and it is time to get rid of it wherever and whenever possible. Multi National corporations have been concentrating the worlds wealth for the past several decades under the heading of CAPITALISM but this has done less than nothing for the poor who still dont have adequate medical health care; enough to eat; substandard housing, and below minimum wages. Corporations like: Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, Nestle, Pepsico, DuPont, General Mills, Coca Cola, WalMart, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Berkshire Hathaway, General Motors, Hewlett Packard, Haliburton, Bank of America, Kroeger, Dow Chemical, Pfizer, Sysco Corporation, Chevron, Fed Ex Corporation, Marathon Peteroleum, and Citigroup are only a handful that control not only the U.S. and Canadian political machine but the majority of the worlds wealth as well. Corporations like Monsanto are poisoning us; big oil/gas are environmental rapists that leave waste and destruction in their path, and they are exaggerating climate warming instead of putting their money and their efforts into green solutions. canadians.org/blog/newfoundland-labrador-withdraws-all-free-trade-negotiations
